Teeth Whitening
In-Studio Whitening Care
Congratulations! You have just experienced a revolutionary tooth whitening procedure at Artiste Studios.
What to Expect
Sensitivity
■ In the first 24 hours after treatment, you may experience some tooth sensitivity or pain. This is normal and is usually mild; but it can feel worse in a few individuals.
■ These symptoms are temporary and usually respond very well to over-the-counter pain medications if necessary.
■ In rare cases, it may persist for longer periods of time and you should make your dentist aware of this. Teeth may feel slightly sensitive to cold water and air, but this should ease within a day.
Enhancing your sparkling bright smile
The first 48 hours after whitening are important in enhancing and maximising your whitening results for a long lasting, bright and healthy smile.
Avoid dark staining substances
■ Staining substances should be avoided, such as: coffee, dark teas, red wine, staining foods like curry and tomato-based sauces, and berries, and their sauces as well as beetroots.
■ Tobacco products should also be avoided.
■ Some mouthrinses such as those containing chlorhexidine are staining, and should be avoided.
Maintaining your sparkling bright smile
■ Adopt a colourless diet and minimise staining substances as listed above.
■ Brush or rinse your teeth after meals and drinks to minimise staining.
■ Minimise stain build-up with periodic Diamond Cleaning™, a deluxe clean and polish including air polishing.
■ Practise good oral hygiene and seek regular professional dental hygiene care to maintain oral health.
We will be happy to remind you to return in 6 months for Diamond Cleaning™ and determine the need for any whitening touch–ups.
If you have any other questions, please contact the practice and we will be happy to help.
