The Life Changing Smile Makeover You Deserve
Researchers have shown that we make snap judgments about a person's social and intellectual abilities, just by the appearance of their teeth.
Their participants associated the presence of decayed and discoloured teeth with lower levels of social and intellectual competence, and with poorer psychological adjustment.
They judged the male subjects with no apparent dental disease to be more socially competent, to show greater intellectual achievement and to be better psychologically adjusted.
The more attractive the people were the more successful, content, friendly, intelligent, sociable, accessible, exciting, creative and busy the persons were estimated. It is fact; Individuals are better received if they are attractive. You may not think you are the most attractive, but there is something you can do to improve other people’s perception of you . . . just SMILE!

Aesthetic Enamel Sculpting
New Shape, Colour and Size for your teeth, achieved through Aesthetic Enamel Sculpting
The Artiste Studios Aesthetic Enamel Sculpting can be used to create cosmetic enhancements for teeth either by modifying shape, colour or size. In some instances, simple reshaping of the front teeth usually without the need for anaesthesia can produce a dramatic result that corrects jagged, chipped or slightly uneven teeth. In this case, the dental sculptor becomes the maestro of art, employing sanding discs and creativity, in tandem with nature.
The balance between form and function can be achieved with Aesthetic Enamel sculpting. This artistic approach to smile design can be employed by the following ways:
A veneer of dental bonding can be placed over the front side of teeth that have become stained or discoloured as a way of enhancing their cosmetic appearance.
Closing gaps between teeth (improving a gappy smile)
Tooth bonding can be used to fill in gaps that lie between your teeth (this type of gap is called a diastema). When this technique is employed, tooth coloured composite or porcelain is bonded onto the sides of the two teeth that lie on either side of the gap, resulting in a full smile. The net effect is dramatic for such a quick and simple procedure.
Correcting minor cosmetic imperfections.
Minor to moderate cosmetic imperfections of chipped, disfigured, or misaligned teeth can be masked or corrected by Aesthetic Enamel Sculpting, returning smooth, natural, pleasing shape to your teeth.
The options are wide; simply call us today to discuss what is best for you.
Protective Tooth Bonding
Don’t Just Have Your Broken Down Tooth Patched Up, Get Protective Tooth Bonding
Tooth bonding can be used to place white fillings (composite fillings) for teeth. People no longer want silver fillings that show when they laugh or smile because you are more conscious about the way you look. Composites are bonded to the tooth to support the remaining tooth structures which helps to prevent breakages and further tooth decay as well as insulating the tooth from excessive temperature changes
Dental composite fillings for front teeth
Dental composite, the restorative that is used with tooth bonding technique, has been the material of choice for creating tooth-coloured fillings for front teeth for many decades. Current dental composites come in a wide range of shades that will typically mimic very closely the colour of the tooth on which it is placed. An Artiste Studios’ filling for front teeth will correct fractures and restore any cavity, with strong and suitable tooth coloured material that will prevent further tooth decay and provide an aesthetically pleasing result.
White fillings for back teeth
In some instances dental composite can be an appropriate restorative for fillings placed in back teeth. Patients often like this option because the white colour of composite fillings is much less noticeable than the silver coloration of dental amalgam fillings. Exposed roots can now be protected with a thin layer of bonding to decrease sensitivity and increase tooth strength.
Restore the natural beauty and strength of a damaged tooth, at Artiste Studios, we us highly aesthetic strong composite material, along with polishing and finishing techniques to ensure your protective tooth bonding costs you less over time and makes you feel good.
Veneers with our Signature Ceramics to give you a Natural Looking New Smile
Veneers Provide a Quick Solution to Straighten Teeth
Are you interested in a quick option that will change your smile dramatically? Signature ceramic veneers are the most aesthetic means of creating a more pleasing and beautiful smile and are an excellent way to change the appearance of discoloured, chipped, or misaligned teeth. Allow Artiste Studios to explain when placing porcelain tooth veneers can be an appropriate choice, what types of changes veneers can be expected to make to your smile, the advantages of each type of veneer such as Lumineers, Da Vinci and Signature veneers, and the steps involved when they are placed.
We Practise Minimally Invasive Dentistry for Veneers
Veneers are wafer-thin shells of porcelain that are bonded onto the front side of teeth to create a cosmetic improvement for your tooth. They require a minimal amount of tooth reduction. Traditional cosmetic dental bonding materials available were just semi-translucent. This meant that most of the light that struck a repaired tooth would not penetrate into the bonding but instead be reflected off its outer surface. The visual effect was that while the bonding did give the tooth an improved appearance, there was no sense of translucency (lustre).
We Create Natural Translucent and Highly Aesthetic Veneers
Since porcelain veneers are glass-like in nature (ceramic) they hold a great advantage over other cosmetic bonding techniques due to their being translucent. When a porcelain veneer is bonded onto a tooth's surface it closely mimics the light handling characteristics of natural dental enamel. When light strikes the surface of a veneered tooth it will penetrate into the veneer's porcelain, just like it does with true dental enamel. Once it has crossed the full thickness of the porcelain, the light will reflect off the opaque cement and tooth dentin that lies underneath the veneer, and then bounce back out of the tooth. This translucency effect of the porcelain creates a lustrous appearance for the tooth that very closely resembles the appearance of natural enamel
Porcelain Veneers Have Many Advantages:
■ Porcelain veneers create a very life-like tooth appearance.
■ Porcelain veneers resist staining.
■ Light transmission mimics that of natural enamel.
■ Minor trimming of natural tooth is required
A significant advantage of placing porcelain veneers as opposed to cosmetic dental bonding is that a porcelain veneer's surface is just that, porcelain. Since porcelain is a ceramic, and therefore glass-like, a veneer's porcelain surface will be extremely stain resistant and aesthetically pleasing.
In some cases porcelain veneers can be used as an alternative to orthodontic treatment. If their misalignment is not too excessive, porcelain veneers can sometimes be used to give a person's smile a more even appearance without the use of braces. Porcelain veneers can be used as a way to close spaces (gaps)
Well-Made, Good Quality Veneers Will Last More Than 10 Years
There are no hard and fast rules about how long you can expect your porcelain veneers (porcelain laminates) to last. You can certainly expect that they will remain cosmetically pleasing and structurally sound for many years, but it is unrealistic to expect that they will last forever. With good home and dental care and by exercising good judgment, it is likely that a porcelain veneer could last over ten years.
Cosmetic Crowns, but Natural Looking, Just like you Wanted, Only Provided by our Signature Ceramics
It is not an unfamiliar term, most people have heard about a Crown or “Cap” at some point during their past dentist visit or had someone you know comment about their own treatment with a crown. Either our dental specialist has performed a Dévitalisation (root canal) and advises a premier signature crown as the long-term restorative option for your tooth or during a more thorough examination of large broken down fillings, chipped or cracked teeth has suggested protecting your remaining teeth structure with crowns. But what in fact is a crown and why would you opt to have one placed by our cosmetic specialists at Artiste Studios?
Crowns are required when the strength of the tooth supporting the filling is compromised; the crown will cup over and encase the tooth on which they are placed. This means that a crown can act as a splint that binds a tooth together. This is a very important feature of dental crowns and one that makes them a very valuable type of restoration for Artiste Studios to have available to our patients. We employ the latest techniques and feature Procera, Cerec, Empress, Inceram, Procad along with our Signature Ceramics for crowns.
If your tooth has undergone significant decay and there is not enough tooth structure remaining to support a filling or a ceramic inlay whilst maintain functionality, a crown could be the solution. A fractured tooth, either due to an accident or a large cavity where a large portion of the tooth is missing and cannot be built up using traditional composite bonding techniques may also lead to having a crown placed. Another less obvious reason to be recommended a crown is if you grind your teeth and have a poor diet since acid erosion may reduce your teeth to such a state that in order to reinforce their structure the option of a precious metal with ceramic crown would work best to save the remaining tooth and restore its original shape. Of course if you have discoloured, misshapen or misaligned teeth, crowns can also be an option to improve the aesthetics of your smile.
Possibly you have heard that certain movie stars have had their teeth "capped." This simply means that the person has obtained their "Hollywood smile" by way of having crowns placed. You may opt for superior aesthetics with our signature metal-free technology ceramic crowns which won’t leave you with a dark line near the gum as you may have already seen with other conventional crowns.
If you are wondering whether a crown is the right option for you, our specialists at Artiste Studios will be able to assess, diagnose and offer the appropriate type of crown for your situation. Bear in mind that crowns should not be the first choice if you are only looking to improve the aesthetics of your teeth; we have less invasive alternatives available which include veneers or dental bonding that won’t require as much trimming of your tooth in order to fit. Remember, crowns are required when the strength of the tooth supporting the restoration is compromised, since veneers and dental bonding restorations are only as strong as the supporting tooth.
Premier Dental Bridge
Solution for Missing Teeth
A bridge is a restoration that replaces missing teeth, thereby "bridging" the gap (or space) between two or more teeth. Fixed bridges are cemented into place next to the surrounding teeth on either side of the space. Bridges are an ideal choice when the supporting teeth on either side of the gap are healthy and strong.
At Artiste Studios our dental bridges are fabricated by our specialised dental technicians, using the highest quality biocompatible materials, allowing us to provide you with excellent functional and aesthetic results. Often our bridge restorations are indistinguishable from surrounding teeth. Alternative treatments for missing teeth include partial dentures and dental implants.
Cosmetic White Fillings
Rebuild, Restore and Reshape Your Teeth
White fillings, otherwise known as composite or porcelain inlays, allow teeth to be filled and rebuilt utilising new, more aesthetically pleasing material such as tooth coloured composite resins and ceramic.
Artiste Studios’ white fillings do not contain mercury and are an ideal choice for achieving long term strength in teeth that have fillings. Teeth that possess large silver amalgam or mercury fillings are at risk of fracturing because the remaining walls of the tooth are maintained separated by these traditional filling materials. These teeth can be rebuilt with aesthetic ceramic inlays, which holds the tooth together after being placed by a bonding technique as opposed to spreading it apart, preserving the remaining healthy tooth structure. This allows teeth to be safely and aesthetically restored achieving a more attractive smile.
Dental composite fillings - Tooth bonding can be used to create white fillings (composite fillings) for your teeth.
Dental composite fillings for front teeth.
Dental composite (the restorative that is used with tooth bonding technique) has been the material of choice for creating tooth-coloured fillings for front teeth for many decades. Because dental composite comes in a wide range of different shades of white, it will typically mimic the colour of the tooth on which it is placed very closely.
White fillings for back teeth.
Ceramic Inlays are the recommended restorative for large fillings placed in the back teeth. Patients often like this option because being fabricated outside of the mouth, a ceramic inlay allows more precision, excellent aesthetic detail and better marginal adaptation to your teeth. This results in longer lasting, stronger fillings.
Solution for Missing Teeth
Artiste Studios - L'Orthodontiste provides a full range of preventative and interventative techniques.
Innovative non-invasive fillings for the Microinvasive (Infiltrating) treatment is used in two main ways. The first is to minimise invasive treatment especially for areas between teeth using non-infiltrative methods. The second is the aesthetic treatment of front teeth for a number of applications, such as white spots, enamel changes and possibly changes caused by trauma.
1. Minimise invasive treatment
Proximal areas in between teeth are not only a problem when brushing. Areas between teeth are at risk but difficult to access. Caries can form here quite easily, which is not only difficult to detect, but also difficult for the dentist to reach physically. If there is a decay, traditional fillings are relatively invasive and lead to a large loss of healthy tooth structure. In cases of proximal caries, there is often an unfavourable ratio of healthy tooth to caries that must be removed.

2. Aesthetic treatment of front teeth
As air and water entrapment in the tooth has a lower refractive index than intact tooth structure, this leads to unaesthetic discolourations in the vestibular structure. We attempt to balance this difference and the final appearance blends in with the healthy enamel.
This innovative method is based on caries infiltration to fill the gap between prophylaxis and filling. This treatment optically blends in the lesion with the healthy enamel. The result is an aesthetic treatment of front teeth, where appearance plays an important role.

This method is also effective on cariogenic white spots, especially immediately after removing braces. Even brown spots, which have developed over a longer period of time, can be treated aesthetically, provided the surface has not cavitated.
Enamel Changes to Teeth that can be treated
Cases of enamel changes like fluorosis were able to be treated successfully, particularly in mild to moderate instances.
Changes caused by trauma
Image: Changes to teeth color caused by trauma may possibly be treated
Further enamel defects, such as those caused by trauma, can possibly be aesthetically improved. The success of the procedure is heavily dependent on how deep these defects lie within the tooth structure. The closer they are to the surface, the better the aesthetic improvement. This method of treatment is awaiting confirmation from clinical studies (2015).
This is a gentle method for counteracting cariogenic white spots – with an aesthetic side effect. There is no unnecessary loss of healthy hard tissue.

Cariogenic acids attack the enamel and draw out minerals. The tooth becomes porous.

By sealing the pore system, acids can no longer penetrate into the lesion, thus stopping the progression of the caries at an early stage.
